Welcome to Reception!
Class Teacher: Miss Platt
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Bristow
The children will be heard reading at school on a regular basis. Please support this by reading at home at least three times a week and record it in their home reading diary. Every week we check these and they earn stickers in order to be entered into the reading prize draw, which takes place at the end of every half term. Each week they will also be chosen for a reader of the week certificate when they have shown their love and passion for reading.
Please ensure that your child/children have a drinks bottle every day, this must contain water as we are a healthy school. They are able to drink a cartoon of milk every day at snack time. Try not to put drinks bottles into book bags because they can leak and this may ruin the children's books. The children need to come in their own clothes every Friday for outdoor learning.
Remember to leave your children at the gate to walk down into Reception independently as part of a smooth transition into the morning, you will be greeted by a member of staff to support children who are finding this time difficult. This is to ensure that children are developing their independence by hanging up their own things and being responsible for their own belongings.
Please select lunch choices with your children so that they know what they are having for lunch. This helps children to feel confident during lunchtimes. If you have any concerns about lunch please get in contact with Miss Platt.
